Knox City, Texas - Julia C. (Judy) Anderson, 87, passed from this world into heaven on February 10, 2008, in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born on April 6, 1920, near Rule, Texas, and was the oldest of fourteen children born to George Madison and Flossie Elizabeth Williams Martin. Judy married Billie Ray Anderson on April 19, 1941, in Stamford, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Judy graduated from Henrietta High School. During World War II, while her husband was serving in the U.S. Army overseas, she served her country as well by working as a "Rosie, the Riveter" at Consolidated Aircraft in Fort Worth, Texas where she helped build B24 bombers. Her husband, Bill, preceded her in death on October 15, 1982.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers- Robert, George, Ernest, Milton, Marshall, Roy, Melvin and baby boy Martin and sisters- Adeline Vines, Lillian Martin and Peggy Hertel.

Judy is survived by: her two sons and spouses, Mark and Beverly Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, and David and Teri Anderson of Ulysses, Kansas; and daughter, Mary Beth and Sam Hillard of Georgetown, Texas. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Casey Anderson Carlson and husband, Don of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania; Kobi Melton LeBlanc and husband, Brandon of Round Rock, Texas, Jason Melton and wife, Tiffany of Houston, Texas; Alesha Anderson of Canyon, Texas; Zach Anderson of Manhattan, Kansas; Lance Corporal Nye Justice of Twenty-Nine Palms, California,; and daughters, Maeghan and Caitlon Hillard of Cameron, Texas. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Hawk, Kanga Jane, and Dove LeBlanc; and Madalyn Kathleen (Madi Kate) Melton. Surviving sisters include, Jan Davis of Granbury, Texas; Sue Ricketts of Old Fort, North Carloina as well as sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion Urban of Carrizo Springs, Texas; Polly and Ben McMillin of Conroe, Texas; Gayle and Alton Anderwald of Burnet, Texas; June and Bill Mullins of, Golden Colorado; Ken Anderson of Big Spring, Texas; and Keith Anderson of Granbury, Texas as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Knox City, Texas on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Mansell - Smith Funeral Home, Knox City.
