Russell "Red" Lee Kimm, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on November 28, 2022, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids.
Russell was born on November 17, 1935, the son of Porter and Esther (Schaffer) Kimm in Blairstown, Iowa. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Walt Portwood Farm. Red retired from Midland Forge after 35 years of service.
Surviving are his children, Kevin (Sandy) Kimm, Claudia Kimm, Tom (Lori) Kimm, Karen (Dave) Berger, and Bill Kimm; siblings, Francis, Earl and Regina; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his companion and caregiver, Charlotte Graybill and her family; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Debra Schutterle, siblings, Dale, Dahlene, Harlan, Marion, Kenny, and Virginia; and grandson, Dustin Stoddard.
Gathering of family and friends will take place 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Norway American Legion. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, Iowa.
