DALE E. BUCKINGHAM, 76, of Buckingham Lane, West Alexandria, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 17, 1997 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Born Feb. 13, 1920, he was the son of Mardo and Barbara (Harry) Buckingham. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a former Twin Township Trustee for 32 years. Mr. Buckingham was a member of the Church of the Brethren, where he had held many offices; was a former Kiwanis member; and a lifetime member of the Horseshoe Club in Darke County,

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jane Buckingham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Cheryl Buckingham of Centerville, Ohio, and Del and Lisa Buckingham of West Chester, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Tom Copp of Greenville; two grandchildren, Kelly Copp and Martin Buckingham; three brothers, Lowell Buckingham of Oakwood, Darrel "Tony" Buckingham of Centerville and Robert Buckingham of Trotwood; and one sister, Mary Marceil Gibson of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Emerson Buckingham; and a sister, Betty Gibson.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 20, at the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Matthew Fike officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Alexandria Rescue Squad or to the Church of the Brethren.
