M. Gerhardt Dies Here At Age of 80.
Mrs. Magdalene, 80, 1313 Woodruff, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital.
She was born Nov. 2, 1885 at Marein Feld, Russia, and had lived in the United States and Topeka 42 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar
Society at the church.
Survivors include her husband, John Gerhardt Sr., of the home; a son, John Gerhardt Jr., of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Lena Kamer, 205 Freeman, and Mrs. Marie Mendez, 1710 Kansas; a brother John Gerling, Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Gerhardt will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan Funeral Home where rosaries will be recited by the parish at 7 p.m. and by the Altar Society of Scared Heart Church at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
