Maria was the second wife of Carl Heinrich Rudolph Lehfeldt. She bore 3 children before dying in childbirth in 1888. She and the child were buried on a hill overlooking family property near Broadview, MT. Her 2 daughters died in 1890 from diphtheria in Denison, Iowa. Her only surviving child was her son, William (1883-1963)
