Edith May Cartwright, 79, of Vernon died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday , January 23, 2008, at Manderly Health Care Center in Osgood.
Mrs. Cartwright was formerly employed as a nanny for the Greathouse Family. She attended Butlerville School and was a member of Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed hunting and gardening.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with Joe Daugherty officiating. Calling is from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Vernon Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Born July 3, 1928, in Jennings County, Mrs. Cartwright was the daughter of Edward and Bertha Losey Gault. She married Norman "Mose" Cartwright on October 3, 1970, in Vernon. They were married by Vernon Mayor Bob Rockey.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on March 10, 2005; brothers, Roy, Woodford, Cecil and Guy Gault; and a sister, Edra Shaller.
