Cải Lương stage actress and singer. She was best known for her roles in stage such as The Hương in "Nửa Đời Hương Phấn," Lan in "Tuyệt Tình Ca," Thảo in "Tấm Lòng Của Biển," Hằng in "Con Gái Chị Hằng" and Phà Ca in "Người Vợ Không Bao Giờ Cưới." Born Đặng Thị Hai to a poor family in Đức Hòa. She learned to sing vọng cổ with Văn Vĩ, her childhood friend. After spending her time singing in street markets, she was discovered by Năm Cần Thơ and as a result, she began her acting career in the Cải Lương theater. Throughout her career, she starred in many theater productions such as "Đồ Bàn Di Hận," "Tình Tráng Sĩ," "Nửa Bản Tình Ca," "Người Tình Trên Chiến Trận," "Hoa Mộc Lan" and "Thuyền Ra Cửa Biển" with her colleagues such as Út Trà Ôn, Thanh Nga, Hữu Phước, Hùng Cường, and Thành Được, to whom she was formerly married and with whom she adopted four children. In addition to her stage career, she recorded tân and vọng cổ. Following the reunification of Vietnam, she continued her career, starring in the audio and video productions of Cải Lương plays and performing at Buddhist charities and pagodas. She was awarded "Meritorious Artist" by the Vietnamese government.
