WILLIAM A. HEGNER

William A. Hegner, 82, 722 S. State Street, died at 11:30 Saturday evening after a long illness. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dec. 18, 1854, he came to Fond du Lac, where he entered the retail meat business. Mr. Hegner also operated a shop at Cudahy before coming to Appleton 17 years ago. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and of the Holy Name Society of the church.

Surviving are one son, Dr. George T. Hegner, Appleton; three sisters, Mother Stanislaus, mother general of the Franciscan order of the mother house at Milwaukee; Mrs. Matthew Lang, Gillett; and Mrs. Sarah Annen, Fond du Lac; and one grandson, William F. Hegner, Appleton.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Tuesday morning at the Wichmann funeral home and at 9 o'clock at the St. Mary's Church with the Rev. James E. Meagher in charge. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Fond du Lac. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home from this evening until the time of the service.
