Sharon E. Ogden, 76, of Mt. Joy entered into eternal rest January, 28, 2023 in Port Jefferson, New York.

Born in Amityville, New York, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Cerny.

Sharon grew up on Long Island, New York and graduated from Farmingdale High School, Farmingdale, New York and Claremont Secretarial School in Hicksville, New York.

She worked as an Executive Secretary for Grumman Aerospace Corporation on the Lunar Module Program. Later, she, her mom, and her sister opened The Gingerbread House - a craft and quilt store in Farmingdale, New York.

Sharon moved to San Diego, California for fifteen years before she returned to Farmingdale in the 1980's.

After meeting her husband: Oliver, they moved to the Lancaster area because of their love of quilting, crafts, and farms.

Sharon was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lancaster and for many years, she was the Coordinator of the Oblate of St. Benedict thru St. Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad, Indiana.

She was an avid quilter, quilt instructor, and author. Over the years, she had several quilt books and a children's book published.

Sharon was a collector of many things including: seashells, angels, and Santas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-nine years: Oliver Joseph Ogden IV in 2016; and, her brother: Alan Cerny.

Sharon is survived by her sisters: Linda Commander of Napa, California and Robin (Louis Sico) of Mount Sinai, New York; her sister-in-law: Jane Cerny of Port Jefferson Station, New York; her nieces and nephews; her great-nieces and great-nephews; her great-great-nephew; and, her friends.

Guests will be welcomed from 09:00 - 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 07, 2023 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 01:30 PM.
