Laverne, age 97, passed away at Midland Hospice House after a brief illness. He was the son of Joseph and Cecile (Thompson) Zlatnik. He graduated from Delia (KS) High School in 1944. He served as sexton of the Delia Cemetery and created the Delia Centennial History Project. He married Velma F. Lewelling on August 8, 1948. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his siblings, Evelyn Parkinson, Judith Macha, and Roger Zlatnik. Survivors include his children, Mark Zlatnik, Carolyn Orozco, and Alan Zlatnik, his siblings, Rosella Hoglund and Mary Alice Huntsman, seven grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters. Funeral Services will be held February 6, 2023, at Delia Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Delia Cemetery.
