OBIT. - Word was received here yesterday of the death of Mrs. Albina Woods, 74 years old, the widow of Dr. W.S. Woods, which occurred in Glendale, Calif., late on Monday night, following an attack of apoplexy. Her daughter, Mrs. Julia Woods Rubey of Kansas City, and Mr. and Mrs. C. Q. Chandler were with her at the time of her death. Mr. Chandler is a nephew of Dr. Woods and is president of the Kansas National Bank of Wichita.

Mrs. Woods had been in ill health for many years. She visited her daughters home in November and left for California to be under the care of a physician who was an old friend of the family.

Before leaving she took a keen interest in a $50,000 memorial church which is now under construction at Excelsior Springs, where she and Dr. Woods had maintained their home.

Mrs. Woods, born in Paris, Mo., was the daughter of Judge Ebenezer McBride, who was a pioneer of Monroe county. She was married to Dr. Woods in Paris, Mo., on May 31, 1866. They came to Kansas City in 1881. Their golden wedding anniversary was celebrated on May 31, 1916, at William Woods college, an institution to which they had given large sums.

The estate left by Dr. Woods at his death last summer was valued at $5,500,000, and the widow's share was estimated from $1,000,000 to $1,500,000. It was said by friends yesterday that she probably did not leave a will. Mrs. Rubey, her only child, is her heir. Mrs. Rubey has two daughters, Mrs. James M. Kemper and Ruth Rubey, 10 years old. Mrs. Woods is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. S.J. Fitzhugh of Mystic, Conn., and Mrs. Emelia Smith, of Slater, Mo.

Dr. Woods was president of the National Bank of Commerce here for many years. Both he and Mrs. Woods were graduates of Missouri university.

The burial of Mrs. Woods will take place in Paris, Mo., beside the body of Dr. Woods.
