Ackerman- William "Bill" Edward III, 62, lost his 10-year battle with cancer on Friday March 23, 2007. The disease finally destroyed his body, but never his spirit and zeal for life. Bill was born December 14, 1944 in Louisville, KY. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served as deacon and held several other volunteer and leadership positions. He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Ackerman Jr.; and father-in-law, Jimmie Ousley. Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, two sons, two beautiful granddaughters, his mom, one sister, his aunt and uncle, a special brother-in-law, a loving mother-in-law, seven nieces; one nephew; and many other great-nieces, nephews, friends and family. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Richmond. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund 425 Eastern By-Pass Richmond, KY 40475 or to Home Meals Delivery 325 University Dr. Richmond, KY 40475
