Joseph Cherny, son of Vencil and Mary
Cherny was born at Steinauer, Nebraska on
November 30, 1887 and departed this life at
Marysville, Kansas on Tuesday, morning of
February 14, 1961 after a short illness at the
age of 73 years, 3 months and 14 days.

On February 1, 1911 he was married to Mollie
Bartosvacsky, at Wymore, Nebraska. Born to
this union were two sons, Alvin Cherny of
Frankfort, Kansas and Clarence Cherny of
Beatrice, Nebraska.

In 1917 they moved to a farm south of Home,
Kansas from Nebraska. In 1947, the couple
moved to Winifred where he made his home
until his death.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mollie;
two sons, four grandchildren, three great-
grandchildren also three sisters, Anna Cherny
Marysville, Kansas, Josephine Become, of
Omaha, Nebraska and George Cherny, of
Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held at the Padden
Chapel in Frankfort, Kansas at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 16, 1961 with Reverend
Harlan F. Palser, Winifred, Kansas.

Burial was in the Home City Cemetery,
Home, Kansas.
