Earl Kreutner, age 81, of Revillo died February 29th at Golden Living Center in Milbank.

Earl Otto Kreutner was born September 22, 1926, in Deuel County, SD. He was the son of Fred and Minnie (Krause) Kreutner. He attended school in Revillo, SD and graduated from Revillo High School in 1944.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II., enlisting on March 15, 1945. He was a Seaman, First Class and served on the USS Saidur and the USS Currituck. He was honorably discharged on July 29, 1946.

He returned to South Dakota and was united in marriage with Mavis Sackreiter on July 23, 1954, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank.

Following their marriage, Earl and Mavis farmed together in Lowe Township, Deuel County, south of Revillo. They resided at the family farm following their retirement.
Earl was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Revillo and served on the church council. He was a member of the Marietta American Legion Post # 156. He served on the Lowe Township Board. Earl enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing.

Earl Kreutner is survived by his wife, Mavis; one daughter: Janet and husband Bruce Granquist of Milbank, SD and their children: Brian and Nathan Granquist; six sons: Arlin and wife Marie Kreutner of Milbank, SD and their children: Tom and Renae Kreutner; Roger and wife Nancy Kreutner of Revillo, SD and their children: Josh, Steph and Greg Kreutner; Wayne and wife Carol Kreutner of St. Cloud, MN and their children: Jacob and Austin; Dale and wife Sandy Kreutner of Brandon, SD and their children: Ruth and Julia Kreutner; Neil and wife Callie Kreutner of Valentine, NE and their children: Connor and Emma Kreutner; and Bruce and wife Christine Kreutner of Brookings, SD and their children: Tyler and Brianna Kreutner; one sister, Ellen and husband Costin (Skip) Powell of Griffin, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Al and Floyd Kreutner and two sisters: Vi Menach and Laurene Walz.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 4th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Revillo. Rev. Kim Kanitz will officiate and burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery at Albee.

Honorary bearers will be Earl's friends and neighbors and Glen and Barb Weide, Mel and Bev Weide, Harold and Jeanette Kruse, Alan Brandenburger, Lloyd Schoenfeld, Gene and Linda Limberg, Orville and Delores Magedanz, Denny and Margaret Skoog, Denny and Carol Siedschlag.

Casket bearers will be his grandchildren: Tom Kreutner, Brian Granquist, Nathan Granquist, , Josh Kreutner, Jacob Kreutner, Austin Kreutner, Greg Kreutner, Renae Kreutner, Steph Kreutner, Brianna Kreutner, Tyler Kreutner, Ruth Kreutner, Julia Kreutner, Connor Kreutner, and Emma Kreutner.

Military Honors will be provided by the Marietta American Legion Post # 156.
