"Estate Sought By Californian
HOUSTON, Tex. (AP) - A California man filed a suit in federal court yesterday asking for half the multi-million dollar estate of Binz J. Settegast, claiming he is the dead man's son.
In the suit the plaintiff names himself as Binz J. Settegast Jr., otherwise William J. Dennis, San Francisco. He is joined as plaintiff by his wife, Anne.
The suit estimates the market value of the estate at three million dollars.
Settegast, a Fort Bend County ranchman and a former Houston resident, died Sept. 12, 1952, four days before he was to have married Mrs. B. C. Harwood of Richmond. He left most of his property to her and her two children, Jane and Stephen Harwood.
The Californian contends that Settegast married Alice Inez Helton Settegast Feb. 5, 1921, in Fort Bend County and that he is their son. He contends his parents were divorced in Harris County June 4, 1923.
The Californian states his mother later remarried and now lives in New York, the wife of R. A. Garfield.
He said he was raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Alice J. Morris and an aunt, Mrs. Margaret Lunsford."
