Albert Clay Aumann Dies
Retired Farmer Lived in Cowley County All of His Life.
Albert Clay Aumann, Rt. 2., died at his home, "Hillcrest" eight miles north and west of the city at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. He had been in poor health for a long time, entered the hospital for the last time Sept. 14, and had been home six months.
A retired farmer, he had lived for more than 50 years in the large house on the crest of the hill, overlooking the Arkansas River, on the Wichita shortcut.
Born April 12, 1882, in Cowley County, he lived in this vicinity all his life. He attended Lone Star county school and was graduated from Kansas State University, Manhattan, in 1906. His parents were Ernest henry Aumann and Cora Ellen Haven Aumann.
Miss Lutecia (Lettie) Mae Disser and Clay Aumann were married, April 27, 1905 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Disser, where the Rusell Millers how live.
Aumann was a member of the First United Presbyterian church, and the Hackney Farmers Union.
Survivors include his wife, of the home, one son, Mark Donald Aumann, Fullerton, Calif., one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Olmstead, Rt. 3., Winfield; four grandchildren, Mark Donald Aumann Jr., and Robin Ellen Aumann, Fullerton, Calif., and Olin Kent Olmstead and Victor Herbert Olmstead, students in the local school; and one sister, Mrs. Will (Agnes) Hower, Rt. 2. Two sisters are deceased, Stella and Tillie Aumann.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 2 p.m. at First United Presbyterian church. Dr. Robert Stevenson will officiate and burial will be in Tannehill cemetery.
