Anchorage resident Stefani Carol Thompson, 25, died June 24 at Providence Hospital. Visitation was at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, downtown. A funeral was at Anchorage Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Birner officiating. Burial was held at Angelus Memorial Park. Pallbearers included Kevin Barrett, Faren Langla, Khara Taylor, John Marquardt, Jeff Stanford, Fritz Ferrante, Stacy Osborn and Darren Backman.

Ms. Thompson was born Nov. 18, 1968, in Yakima, Wash. She moved to Alaska with her family in March 1971 and graduated from Dimond High School in 1987. She then attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in English. Ms. Thompson worked at ABC Motorhome while attending college, then went to work for Alaska Housing Finance Corp. in the rural housing department. She enjoyed running, bicycling, reading, hiking and "take no prisoners croquet." Her family said: "Stefani was a sweet and caring person with a fantastic sense of humor. She loved animals and supported animal rights organizations. She held family values in high regard and was a loyal and dependable daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed, but not forgotten, by her family and many friends. We were blessed to have known and loved her for 25 years."

Ms. Thompson is survived by her parents, Hal and Carol, two brothers, Kirk and Dean, sister-in-law, Patty, nephew, Kirk Jr., and niece, Kayla, all of Anchorage; grandparents, Tommy and Peggy of Kenai and Orville and Ruth Morrison of Ellensburg, Wash.; and her aunts and uncles, Galen and Sheron Rogers of Ellensburg, Bill and Linda Rumble of Puyallup, Wash., Marsha West of Seattle, Bill and Elaine Snyder of Newbury Park, Calif., Harold and Linda Weaver of Hughson, Calif., Kenny and Jean Thompson of Oxnard, Calif., and Laura Collins of Honolulu. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Friends of Pets, 4711 S. Bragaw St., Anchorage 99507.
