Ilse Stanley was credited with rescuing 400 fellow Jews from German prison camps.
In her 1957 biography "The Unforgotten",Mrs. Stanley recalled her years as an actress in Germany before World War II and how she duped the Nazis during the war years by walking into concentration camps with forged papers.
After she fled to New York she produced plays.
