James Joseph Picardat

James Joseph Picardat, age 90 of Manistee passed away on Thursday September 8, 2016 at home.
He was born on August 8, 1926 in Manistee, son of the late Abraham and Alice (Chevalier) Picardat. James married Mary Jensen on September 17, 1956 in Detroit.
James was an avid Michigan Wolverine fan and loved watching all sports. He was a member of the VFW Walsh Post 4499.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Picardat of Manistee; daughter, Victoria Cooper of Manistee; 2 sons, Abraham Picardat of St. Clair Shores and James Picardat, Jr., of Irving, TX; granddaughter, Amanda Cooper of Manistee; sister-in-law, Barbara Picardat of Manistee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by parents; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday September 10, 2016 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee with Pastor Joseph Hilyard officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00PM until time of service.
