GERTRUDE E. HINZ
GERTRUDE ERNA HINZ 81, of 2901 Fair Rd. (formerly of Botkins) passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 8:25 A.M. at the Fair Haven County Home.
She was born on July 23, 1926 in Jaskendorf, Germany the daughter of the late Oskar and Elisabeth (Kuhn) Dost.
On August 20, 1948 she married Paul Fredrick Hinz who preceded her in death.
She is survived by 1 son, Bodo W. Hinz and his wife R. Cathrine of Columbus, Oh, 2 daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ursula) Rose of Botkins, Oh. and Mrs. Thomas (Karola) Monnin of Versailles, Oh, 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren, 2 Brothers, Paul Dost and his wife Renate of Dannenberg, Germany and Bernhard Dost and his wife Hela of Petersburg Ontario, Canada, and 2 Sisters, Waltraut Wiemerslage of Ibbenburen, Germany and Helga Neumann of Hannover, Germany. She was preceded in death by a brother, Helmut Dost.
Mrs. Hinz was a Homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Botkins, OH. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and the humor of Red Skelton and her father; Oskar Dost.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. at the Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with the Rev. Michael Althauser officiating.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in memory of Gertrude Hinz. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
