FARINA, ROSE M. (DeLUCA), 78, of Shady Hill Dr., West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, February 19, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Farina.

Born in Providence, daughter of the late Alfred DeLuca Sr. and Jenny (Martellini) DeLuca.

Rose was the owner and operator of the Golden Lantern Restaurant in Warwick for 22 years and Conversations Restaurant in Warwick for 14 years. She received many awards, citations and proclamations for her impact in improving the culture of hospitality in Rhode Island. Rose was recognized by many political figures in Rhode Island for her hospitality. She was the first recipient of the Johnson & Wales Culinary Legend Award.

Rose is survived by her loving siblings, Gloria Burnside of West Greenwich, Edith Campanini of West Warwick, Louise Mendella of Cranston, Amato DeLuca of East Greenwich, Joseph E. DeLuca of West Warwick, and the late Alfred DeLuca Jr. Rose was also the cherished aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
