Valerie L. Mazza, 47, of Ida, MI, died suddenly Thursday, July 12, 2007, at The Toledo Hospital. Born August 26, 1959, in Monroe, MI, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Annette R. (Miller) Quell, Sr. She married Otto Mazza November 18, 1982, in Monroe; MI. Valerie was a reading specialist at Bedford Public Schools, working at Monroe Road Elementary. She was a 1977 graduate of Monroe High School, 1979 graduate of Monroe County Community College, and received her masters of English from Sienna Heights College. She was a captain for Relay for Life for Bedford and Monroe teams. Valerie will be sadly missed by her husband, Otto, of Ida, MI, and her son, Michael (Ali) of Clarkston and daughters, Tracy Mazza of Monroe and Krista Mazza of Cartersville, GA, and her 3 grandchildren; parents, Robert and Annette Quell Sr. of Monroe, MI; brother, Robert E. (Christine) Quell Jr. of Ida, and sisters, Victoria (Albert) Delrue of Erie, MI and Ann (Keith) Savage of Lambertville. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, MI. Interment will follow in LaSalle Twp. Cemetery.
