OSTER, JONATHAN F., age 56, of Lincoln, died Fri., Feb. 22, 2008. He was the husband of Joan (Chabot) Oster.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gerald Oster and Alice (Kutz) Oster. He graduated from the University of RI with a Masters in Sociology and from Suffolk Law School with his JD. He was a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, was the Lincoln Town Administrator from 2000-2002, Rhode Island State Senator from 1996-2000, was a member and Past President of the Cumberland/ Lincoln Rotary, and a member of the Lincoln Land Trust. Prior to his admission to the RI Bar he had worked in group homes with troubled adolescents and in drug rehabilitation facilities with adults.

Besides his wife he leaves his two daughters, Katherine and Amy Oster both of Lincoln; his brother Robert Oster and his wife Lidia of Lincoln and his sisters, Nancy Mullen and her husband Arthur of Pawtucket, and Juliann Oster of Lincoln; as well as several nieces and nephews.
