Carl Ray Michel, 79, of Fort Branch, IN passed away at Deaconess Gateway on June 18, 2023. Carl was born on February 27, 1944, in Gibson County, IN to the late Benjamin Sr. and Gladys (Gardner) Michel.

He is also preceded by his brother Benjamin Michel Jr. and twin sister, Carole Kay Michel.

Carl was a Vietnam veteran of the Navy, a member of the American Legion, VFW Post #2714 and the United Mine Workers. Carl was a member of the First Christian Church in Owensville.

Carl is survived by his son, Charles (Amy) Michel of Haubstadt, IN, and daughter Laura (Frank Hardy) Hedrick of Michigan. 5 grandchildren, Josh Hedrick, Melissa (Josh) Nurrenbern, Allison (Dakota) Short, Kristina Hedrick and Kyle Hedrick. One Great grandchild, Owen Nurrenbern, Sister, Sharon Gwaltney of Owensville, IN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Michel of Princeton, IN; Companion, Connie Lasley and Special Friend, Don Sensmeier, Nieces and nephews, Wayne (Amy) Dillion, Karen (Jim) Richardson, Carla (Monty) Hunsaker, and Benny Michel III.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2023,from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again from 9:00 AM to time of service. Services will be on June 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Reverend Bart Newton officiating and military walk through by the Veterans of Gibson County. Then burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery with military services.
