Mae Jean "Midge" Bridges, 77 years young, a previous resident of Barstow for over 55 years, and a current resident of Apple Valley, died Thursday Dec. 16, 2002 at St. Mary Medical Center of congestive heart failure. Born Aug. 7, 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various church callings. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included singing, playing the piano and cooking. Survivors include her husband, James Franklin Bridges, daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and J.B. Clark of Valley Springs; daughter, Sheryl L. Bronson of Barstow; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Tom Scholt of Barstow; daughter, Melinda S. Erickson of Corona; sister, Myrtle Sackett and family of Payson, Utah; brother, James George and family of Dunnellon, Florida; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 21 at 11:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2571 Barstow Road. Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. also at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road with long time friend officiating, Wilfred Wiseman. Memorial donations and flowers can be sent to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2571 Irwin Road. Mead Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
