Prentice Phemister, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II who survived the attack at Pearl Harbor, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, in Vancouver. He was 82.
Mr. Phemister, was born May 22, 1922, in Arlington, Texas. He lived in Irving, Texas, and Port Angeles before moving to Vancouver 21/2 years ago.
He worked as a painter for an amusement park in Texas, and enjoyed model trains, fishing and being a handyman.
Survivors include two sons, Philip of Battle Ground and David of Vancouver; one brother, Joshua of Texas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
At his request there will be no service. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
His ashes are to be scattered over the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial as per his wishes.
