Linda L. Mead of Pleasant Hill, age 59, passed away at Versailles Health & Rehab on July 31, 2023, following a courageous, six-year battle with cancer. She was born on December 8, 1963 to Ronald E. Mead & the late Juanita K. (Nickel) Mead in Troy, Ohio. In addition to her father, Linda is survived by her son Tod Long of Wapakaneta, four grandchildren, and siblings Rhonda Burgess (Dennis Martin), Peggy (Luke) Basham, Mary (Kraig) Peters, & Karen (Mike) Longstreth.

Linda was a 1982 graduate of Covington High School, and was the first girl to complete the Electrical program at the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School, where she also graduated the same year. She served her country proudly in the United States Navy for 14 years, ten of them in active duty. She was a loyal employee of P & R Specialty, where she worked as a machine operator for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed her involvement with the West Milton and Pleasant Hill libraries, as well as the Miami Valley Veterans Museum. She also loved knitting and genealogy work.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, August 3rd, from 4-8 PM at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 4th at the funeral home with burial following at Harris Creek Cemetery in Bradford. In honor of Linda, contributions may be made to the Miami Valley Veterans Museum, 2245 S Co Rd 25A, Troy, OH 45373. Messages of sympathy may be left for the family online at www.hale-sarver.com.
