Calvin Gerald Partridge Sr. 74, of Honea Path, SC, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Born in Greenwood on June 29, 1949, he was the son of Calvin Jesse James Partridge and Carrie Lee Osborne.
At the age of 18, Gerald volunteered to join the U.S Navy and served two tours in Vietnam as a proud member of the Fighting SeaBees. After his honorable discharge, he followed his passion of community by serving in law enforcement for 19 years, active Lions Club member, and volunteering as a youth sports coach. In addition to his community service, he was employed as a transportation & operational manager for different organizations throughout the upstate, and in the final years, as a commercial truck driver.
Gerald was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Piedmont Technical College and attended Lander University. He was life-long animal lover and Gamecock believer, who rarely met a stranger and was always ready to assist anyone in need!
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah Louise Partridge; two children, son, Calvin Gerald Partridge II (Gerry) and spouse Freddia B. Partridge of Greenwood, and daughter, Tracey Partridge Dawson and spouse Shawn T. Dawson of Anderson; three grandchildren, grandsons, Conner S. Dawson of Charleston, Harrison T. Dawson of Anderson, and granddaughter, Sarah Madison Green and spouse Derek Green of Asheville, NC; sister, Diane Partridge Murphy of Greenwood; and nephews, Travis F. Murphy and spouse Samantha N. Murphy of Anderson, and Tanner J. Murphy and spouse Stephanie W. Murphy of Dacula, GA., as well as numerous in-laws and cousins.
Interment will at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
