Helen was born December 10, 1926 to Uriel and Mabel Keeling Willis in Dallas, Texas. She married Joe Billy Cole in 1945. They lived in the Dallas area where they raised their 3 children. When Joe Billy retired, they moved to Ben Wheeler where he was raised. They lived there for many years before moving to Commerce to be closer to their daughter.

Helen was an active member of the Stanger Springs church while in Ben Wheeler. She also made many friends through her work at the bank in Ben Wheeler. After moving to Commerce, she enjoyed being a part of the Methodist church, participating in Sunday School, monthly luncheons and United Methodist Women activities. Helen was active in the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dennis Anderson; son and daughter-in-law David and Gail Cole; grandchildren Jennifer (Anderson) and Jacob Hunter, Wendi Sturgeon and husband Greg, Kathryn (Cole) Kennedy, Jeff and Ashley Anderson, Kodi (Cole) and Kyle Haymes, Asa and Seneé Cole; great grandchildren Halie Sturgeon, Ava Kennedy, Tripp Anderson, Braxton Cole, Sterley Cole, Slade Cole, and Sonny Joe Cole. She also counted Brian Campbell and his fiancée Caroline Brittain among her grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, her son Joe Billy Cole, Jr, daughter-in-law Laura Cole, and siblings Elbert Willis, Paul Willis, Hugh Willis, and Lynn Willis.
