Walter W. Hammaker, 69, of 211½ Anderson Avenue, Greenville, Ohio, died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday July 3, 1983, in Heartland of Greenville where he had been a patient since 14 Jun 1983. Born 15 Apr 1913, in Dayton, Ohio, he is the son of the late Aloysius and Mary Sieverding Hammaker.

He was a member of the Versailles Eagles Lodge and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a retired tool and die maker, residing in Darke County since 1952.

Survivors include four daughters, Bonnie Thiebeau of Greenville, Linda Minnich of Arcanum, and Jackie Hammaker and Patsy Hammaker, both of Sandusky, Ohio; three sons, Glenn W. Hammaker of Brookville, Florida, and David L. Hammaker and Carl G. Hammaker, both of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters, Mrs. Donald (Jeanette) Floyd, Mrs. Cecil (Mary) Livesay, Mrs. Les (Jerri) Crowell, Mrs. John (Darlene) Smth and Elsie Reier, all of Greenville.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Zechar Funeral Home, with the Reverend Father Ralph Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Wednesday in the funeral home.
