Perry married Ethel on October 3, 1919, in Wood County, Ohio (marriage license 878) when she was 18; Perry was 20. They had two daughters, Maxine Wollam born in Canada in 1930, and Marveline Wollam born in Ohio in 1933.

In the 1930 census he was listed as feeding the stone crusher at a quarry. The 1940 census shows he was still employed at the quarry. In both census years their family was living in Cygnet, Wood County, Ohio. The 1940 census shows their home was on Front Street in Cygnet.
