Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Trail Church of Christ, with Eddie Parrish officiating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst.
Max proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater, serving the entire tour on the U.S.S Marcus Island. He was a retired self-employed brick mason and a charter member of the Hurst VFW 4695.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Audrey Bridges; and a sister and brother, Edith Miranda and Rex Bridges.
Survivors: His wife, Julia Fiscus Bridges; son, Charles and his wife, Dixie Bridges; grandchildren, Sarah and her husband, Vincent Allen and Christopher Bridges; sister, Margaret McLaughlin; sister-in-law, Irene Bridges and her children, Sherry and Robert Neal; nieces, Brandy and her husband, Scott Ross and Linda Riggs; nephews, Keith and Greg Miranda; great-grandson, Gabriel Allen; great-niece and great-nephew, Madeline and Jack Ross.
