Douglas "Doug" Ash, 75, of Weston, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023.

He was born on June 4, 1948, in Toledo, OH, to Donald and Janice (Eding) Ash.

He married Deborah Clark on July 17, 1992, and they were together until she passed away on July 15, 2015.

Doug graduated from Penta High School and last worked as a machine operator for Johns Manville.

He also served as a firefighter and EMT for the Weston Fire Department from April 1980 to December 2019. He was passionate about fire safety and his work with the department. He lived a life dedicated to the service of others.

Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working and shared those interests with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and would light up in their presence. He loved his dogs and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Doug is survived by his beloved children, Cassie (Dean) Eblen, Shelly (Duane) Isabell (from his marriage to Nancy Ensley, now deceased) and stepsons Rick Clark and David Clark; Grandchildren Dakota Clark, Dawson Clark, and Adriana Isabell. Also surviving is his father-in-law, Jack Church; Siblings Sharon (Robert) Kwiatkowski, Charlotte Hurst, David (Sharon) Ash, Darrell (Sandy) Ash, Don Ash, Dan (Vickie) Ash, Patty Walkup, Cathy (David) Krueger, sisters-in-law Jackie (Barry) Roberts, Lisa (Bruce) Kiene, and Amy (Mark) DeTillion, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Deborah, mother-in-law Shirley Church, and brothers-in-law John Hurst and Rankin Walkup.

A celebration of Doug's life service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, OH 43402. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of his service at 12:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Weston Cemetery, Weston.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Doug's memory to the Weston Fire and EMS.
