Alvin was born on March 11, 1919, on a farm north of Heartwell, Nebraska, to Lewis and Emma (Imm) Kuehn. He grew up in the Heartwell area and attended Ireland Country School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army.
On December 24, 1946, he married Daisy Andersen and they lived and farmed north of Heartwell. They moved to the Long Term Care in 2005.
Alvin was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden, the Heartwell Lions Club, the Heartwell VFW and the Kenesaw American Legion Club. Alvin enjoyed fishing, playing cards and cooking for the organizations in which he was involved.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy of Minden; three sons, Randy Kuehn and his wife Nancy of Gulf Port, Mississippi, Kermit Kuehn of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Raymond Kuehn of Beatrice; one daughter, Norma Rust and her husband
John of Hastings; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gustave and Erwin.
