Edith C Lammers, 93 of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Mercy One Senior Care.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will continue from 9 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral mass.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at St Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial at the church cemetery. Rev Chris Podhajsky will officiate.

Edith was born on October 7, 1930, in Petersburg, Iowa, daughter of Raymond and Rose (Wulfekuhle) Lammers.

She was united in marriage to Ambrose Bildstein. Together they farmed and had seven children. The couple later divorced, he preceded her in death.

She married Richard Rahe and they divorced.

Edith was a member of St Francis Xavier Basilica Catholic Parish.

She enjoyed playing euchre, traveling, and tending to her flower garden.

She and her sister- in-law (Mary Jo ), one of her best friends, could often be found taking a road trip to their favorite restaurant or hitting one of many local auctions. Edith attended school in Petersburg, Iowa.

She was employed by the Ertl Company, and later pursued a GED from Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC), earning a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) designation.

She later worked full-time with the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), a long-time passion in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter (Barbara); her first husband; two brothers, Edward Lammers, Ambrose (Pete) Lammers, sister Norma Bildstein and numerous brother and sister in-laws.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Mercy One Senior Care in Dyersville, Iowa and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care and continual support during our Mother's journey. A special thank you to Chris O. who always humored Mom that she was one of the Petersburg ladies.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Dubuque or Visiting Nurse Association of Dubuque.
