BISMARCK - Jeffery Lee Feist, 57, Bismarck, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Mayo Clinic-Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN, after a courageous nine-and-a-half-year battle with metastatic neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4 at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N Second St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Born on September 30, 1966, to Thomas and Linda Feist, Jeff was raised and educated in Bismarck, graduating from Century High School in 1985. He pursued a degree in architecture at North Dakota State University, earning his bachelor's degree in 1990. After graduating, Jeff returned to Bismarck, where he started his architectural career at Tvenge & Associates. Later, he became an integral part of Ritterbush-Ellig-Hulsing P.C. (REH) for 29 years. In September 2021, REH merged with EAPC Architects Engineers, where Jeff continued to work until his passing.
Throughout his 33-year career, Jeff's creative vision as an architect could be seen through his numerous projects. His work spanned the education, healthcare, and civic sectors, with a notable reputation for his contributions to athletic and recreation facilities. Some of Jeff's significant projects included the Bismarck Cancer Center, UND Center for Family Medicine, Sanford Health Dickinson Clinic, Century Baptist Church, House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Sunrise Elementary School, Roughrider Hotel renovation, and the Life Skills Center in Medora. He also completed numerous projects for the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District and United Tribes Technical College.
While traveling across the state and country to support his children at their various sporting events, Jeff developed a passion for athletic and recreation architecture. Some of his proudest work included the Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, Veteran's Memorial Ballpark renovation in Mandan, Mandan Tennis Center, Corbett Field masterplan in Minot, and Bravera Field in Dickinson. Jeff was also proud to serve on the Bismarck Baseball Boosters for many years.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jeff was a dedicated family man, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. On September 14, 1991, he married the love of his life, Beverly Morrison, at the Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with two sons, Jonathan and Andrew. As a proud father, Jeff took immense pride in his children and dedicated himself to attending their sporting events, serving as their number one fan.
Known for his humble nature and kind-hearted spirit, Jeff touched the lives of those around him with his warmth and quick-witted personality. His presence will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 32 years, Beverly; his children, Jonathan (Christine) and Andrew (Paige); two grandchildren; his mother, Linda; his siblings, Tim (Linda) Feist, Gary (Kathy) Feist, and Kimberly (Tony) Georgeson; and his dear friend and brother-in-law, Philip (Carmen) Morrison, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
