Frederick Franklin Graeff, 93, of Gettysburg, PA; passed away peacefully May 1, 2020, at his daughter's home in Virginia of natural causes. Rachel Anna (Kiessling) Graeff, 85, passed away peacefully October 23, 2023, at her daughter's home in Virginia after a courageous six-year struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Frederick was born July 18, 1926, in Lykens, Pa., the son of the late Charles and Augusta M. (Stahl) Graeff Schwartzlander. Frederick joined the U.S. Navy directly from high school and served from 1944 to 1948. He continued to be employed by the government in various capacities and retired in the early 80s.

Rachel was born April 18, 1938, in Gettysburg, PA; the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred H. (Haas) Kiessling. Rachel was employed by the Gettysburg Area School District and retired in 1996.

Fred and Rachel were members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. For over 20 years they enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome with Alaska being a highlight.

They are survived by their daughter, Jacqueline L. (Kiessling Graeff) Hurda and her husband Gary S. Hurda of Springfield, Va.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Abigail L. (Hurda) Williams her husband Richard C. Williams and their children Jacob and Emma of Manassas, Va., Randall S. Hurda and his wife Cassandra Hurda of Herndon, Va.; Magdalyn A. (Hurda) Lee and her husband Sungwoo Lee and their son Rowoon of Wonju, South Korea; Gretchen M. (Hurda) Jereza and her husband Victor Jereza of Alexandria, Va.

A service to celebrate the life of both Fred and Rachel will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Gettysburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1495 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, PA; with Pastor Carlos Quiroga officiating. Military funeral honors and interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 799 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Gettysburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, P.O. Box 3038, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
