A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery.
Jim was born on September 22, 1935, at Marysville, KS, to Frank and Josepha (Dwerlkotte) Nordhus. He attended St. Gregory's Catholic School and graduated from Marysville High School in 1953. After graduation, he attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS.
He had a love for farming, so after college he came back to the Marysville area and farmed. In March of 1962, he was united in marriage and they were blessed with 2 sons. He was very proud of his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retiring from farming, he and wife would build, repair and refinish furniture for people.
Jim was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Financial Secretary for 25 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church and served on the church council. Jim was also active on the Marshall County Historical Courthouse Board.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norbert, Vic and Francis; and sister, Betty Dam.
Survivors include his wife; sons, granddaughter, siblings, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
