To this union 8 children were born: Friedich Carl (1859), Sophia Amalia (1861), Maria Helene (1863), Maria Clara (1866), Wilhelm Carl (1868), Friedrich Christopher (1871), Heinrich Carl (1873) and Amanda Melissa (1876). Charlotte died on May 21, 1878 at the age of 36.
