Jackson was born on October 1, 1932, in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, the son of Ira R. and Grace V. (Scritchfield) Winemiller. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Jackson was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on his bass boat. He also enjoyed playing pool, going to the boats and playing slot machines, woodworking, golfing, and in his younger years, he enjoyed bowling.
Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Dolores; and son, Edward.
His survivors include two daughters, Gloria Winemiller and Sherry Simpson (Ross Spears); two sons, Jim Winemiller (Terri) and Ben Winemiller (Donna); two sisters, Connie and Shirley; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
