Lawrence Earl Klee
February 6, 1940 ~ January 27, 2024
83 Years Old

Lawrence Earl Klee, known affectionately to friends and family as Larry, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on January 27, 2024, in Columbia, MD. Larry's warmth and vivacity left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. He called three places home: Chicago, where he was born and raised; Mount Laurel, NJ, where he resided for 41 years; and The Evergreens of Columbia, MD, where he enjoyed a wonderful retirement community life.

Larry's journey began in the bustling city of Chicago, where he grew up and later achieved his B.S. in Business Administration from Roosevelt University. His academic endeavors paved the way for a successful career, initially flourishing as a charismatic salesman for three decades. Larry's professional life entered a new chapter when he joined the U.S. Postal Service, dedicating 18 years of service before his well-deserved retirement.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Larry's life was anchored by the love and joy he found in his family. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Judith, and children, Frederic, Jamie, and Mark, along with his cherished daughter-in-law, Anna. Larry was a doting grandfather to Margaret (Maggie) and George, who brought him immeasurable happiness. His brothers, Ronald and Bert, predeceased him, but the memories they shared continue to resonate with all who knew the Klee family.

Larry's zest for life extended far beyond his work and family. He was an enthusiastic traveler, with a particular fondness for the serene waters and vibrant cultures of the Caribbean, which he often explored on cruises. The highlight of cruising for Larry was meeting people from all over the world and forging lasting friendships. His passion for sports was unyielding, with his loyalty split between the Philadelphia sports teams and those from his hometown of Chicago. Larry's love for sports was matched only by the camaraderie and friendly competition of his Wednesday night poker gatherings with dear friends.

Throughout his life, Larry's infectious laughter and genuine kindness drew people to him. He was a man who cherished every moment spent with loved ones, whether it was a grand family celebration or a quiet evening at home. His sense of humor and optimism were infectious. His legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to live on through the stories and memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

As we bid farewell to Lawrence Earl Klee, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a life rich with love, friendship, and unforgettable moments. Larry's indomitable spirit and the joy he brought to this world will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
