Marilyn Faye "Molly" Hoag, 85, lifelong area resident died Monday, August 28, 2017 at Encompass Health and Assisted Living in Superior, WI. Molly was born September 9, 1931 in Bennett, WI, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Thorssen) Bruland. Molly married Russell R. Hoag November 25, 1950 and they celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2002. She was employed as a secretary with the Douglas County Forestry Department for over thirty years. Molly was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Solon Springs. She was dedicated to her faith and was very active in the church. Molly played the piano and enjoyed snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snow mobiling, deer and grouse hunting. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and a member of Sweet Adaline's choir. The last ten years of Molly's life was spent traveling with Ken Neslund. She is survived by her daughter Dana (David) Nord, Solon Springs, WI; sons, Hugh (Rita) Hoag, Solon Springs, WI and Douglas (Beverly) Hoag, Bark River, MI; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Charity) Hoag, Cullen Hoag, Becca Hoag, Erick Nord, Jordan Rangel, Nova (Josh) Gelinas and Katie Hoag; eleven great-grandchildren, Brenna, Alyssa, Cydney, Natalie, Landon, Kole, Josie, Benny, Lucas, Abigail and Lillian; sisters, Elmira Haack, Delores Rozell, Betty Conklin; longtime family friends, Harriet Schott and Bill Kline, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Russell; parents and infant brother. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Friday, September 1, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, 9243 East Evergreen Avenue, Solon Springs, WI and will continue until the 1:00 PM funeral service with Pastor Richard Blood officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan, Cullen and Rob Hoag, Jordan Rangel, Erick Nord and Charlie Shaw. Bill Kline will be recognized as a honorary pallbearer. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East Fifth Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
