"Dot" worked in the silk mills of NJ during WW II and moved with her husband and two small children to Eldred, NY in 1951. She was very active in the Eldred Methodist Church being the main chef for their annual fundraising dinners for many years.
Obit - "Mrs. Doris E. Hallock, 50, of Crawford Road, Eldred, died Saturday at her home.
Born Nov. 17, 1921, at Boonton, NJ, she was the daughter of Frederick and Florence Wrightson Estler. She married Robert C. Hallock.
She was a member of the Eldred Methodist Church and its Women's Society of Christian Service, and the Highland Health Club.
Survivors include her husband of Eldred, one son, John of New Brunswick, NJ; a daughter, Carolyn Schneckenberg of Barryville; a sister, Virginia Peer of Boonton; two brothers, Robert and Richard Estler of Boonton; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11am Tuesday at the Knight Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, with the Rev. Frank C. Shannon officiating. Burial will be in Montoza Cemetery, Eldred.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 tonight and from 2-4 and 7-9 Monday."
