Clara Lippe Struempler, 88, of Clifton, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton with the Rev. Suzanne Guinn and the Rev. B.I. Dahl officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Clara was born to the late Fred and Emma Geltemeyer Lippe. She married Edwin Struempler on Feb. 1, 1939. There were three children born to this union, Bobby, Delores and Nancy. The couple spent their lives farming. They moved to Clifton in 1945 and later purchased their own farm near the Garnersville community. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking for her family and friends.

Clara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and moved to Clifton after Edwin's death in 2001. She became a resident of Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility where she enjoyed the companionship of fellow residents and care takers and the activities, especially the hymn singing. She dearly loved seeing and visiting with her six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Adeline Steinke and husband, William; brothers, Fred Lippe and wife, Carolyn, and Marvin Lippe; brother-in-law, Arnold Lammert; parents-in-law, Fritz and Minnie Struempler; and sister-in-law, Erna Struempler Lippe.

She is survived by son, Bobby Struempler and wife, Darlene; daughters, Delores Zuehlke and husband, Raymond, and Nancy Gates and husband, Thomas; sisters, Johanna Lammert and Loraine Crabtree and husband, Fred; brother, Billy Gene Lippe; sisters-in-law, Cleta Lippe and Esther Struempler; brother-in-law, Albert Lippe; grandchildren, Kevin Zuehlke and wife, Kera, DeShawn Anderson and husband, Jim, Keith Zuehlke and wife, Angie, Lorie Struempler, and Andrew, Matthew and Sara Gates; and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Tanner, Keslea, Taylor, and Kirk Zuehlke, and Drew Anderson.
