On April 4th, Mark "Dula" DuLaney - West Coast Raven, Arizona Scorpion, FFI Check Pilot, Treasurer, Board Member and Trustee, Southwest Airlines Captain, Colonel USAF (Ret), F-4, F-5, F-16 pilot, Nellis Aggressor Squadron Commander, and husband to Pat "Dulette" - passed from this world with quiet dignity, resolution and peace, at home. His last days and moments were free of pain, and he was surrounded by family and friends.
In March 2023, Mark was diagnosed with a developed and invasive brain tumor known as a glioblastoma. Despite difficult prognoses, he endured multiple therapies and four different surgical interventions with the same unflappable demeanor you would recognize from his many years of formation flying and unerring support of FFI.
Condolences to Dulette and to all of us, as there are few within the reach of this message that were not positively impacted by Mark, his accomplishments, and friendship in some way. Services are not expected prior to mid-May. There will be additional comms when there is more information available.
"So here's a nickel on the grass to you, my friend, and your spirit, enthusiasm, sacrifice and courage - but most of all to your friendship. Yours is a dying breed and when you are gone, the world will be a lesser place." - by Tim Redden
