She was born Jan. 31, 1909, in Laurel, a daughter of Jacob and Mary Popp, and was baptized Feb. 28, 1909. In her early years, she lived in Laurel, Hysham, U Cross, and Ranchester, Wyo., and later moved to Billings.
July 5, 1926, she was united in marriage to Edward Wegner in Columbus. They lived and farmed in Bridger until moving to Park City.
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Alec, Jacob, and Herman; sisters, Molly, Leoda and Amelia. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred (Sam) Frank of Park City; a son, Rudy (Bernice) Wegner of Laurel; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Sarah) Popp and Walter Popp of Billings; one sister, Evelyn (Vic) Hergett of Laurel; and two sisters-in-law, Bertha Popp and Frieda Popp of Billings.
Mom loved her Bible and her faith in Jesus Christ was her life. We thank God that she now rests in Heaven.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Park City. Interment will follow in the Park City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
