He was raised and educated in the Billings and Park City area. He served in the Philippines during his tour of duty with the Army. After coming home, he made his living doing odds and ends, and mostly farming and ranching.
He married Emma Chesmore and had a son, Edward Joines, of Wenatchee, Wash., and later married Betty Logan of Billings. Together, they had Wilma Joines (Peewee), William Joines and Waverly Karch, all of Billings.
Survivors include grandchildren, Chance, Cameron, Brandon and Willy, Jr.
On Feb. 18, 1961, he married Ruth Shaggerstrom of Independence, Mo.
Dad liked reading, a good horse, a pot of coffee, good conversation, no breakdowns, and most of all, his dogs. He had a great respect for the land and nature in general.
Ornery as he was, loved he will always be. We will miss you and will forever hold you in our hearts.
