He was born February 14, 1948 in Bachelor, the son of the late Glenwood and Hazel (Byrd) Knipp. He married Connie S. Davidson on May 29, 1971. She preceeded him in death on June 1, 1988.
Survivors include two children, Karrie Millard and John Knipp, both of Auxvasse, two sisters, Sue Knipp and Sherry Martin, both of Auxvasse, eight brothers, Roy Knipp, Darrel Knipp, Bob Knipp, Donal Knipp, Bill Knipp, Joe Knipp and David Knipp, all of Auxvasse, and Jim Knipp of Mexico, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and one brother.
Mr. Knipp was a graduate of North Callaway High School.
He served his country in the United States Army.
He worked for A.P. Green for thirty-five years retiring in 2003. Recently he was working at the United Security Bank in Auxvasse. He was a member of AMVETS Post #155 in Auxvasse and was a past member of the Lions Club. He was am active citizen in the Auxvasse community serving as a councilman and in several other organizations.
Services are at 2:00pm at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with Weldon Forman officiating. Interment will be in the Auxvasse Cemetary.
Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.
