GALENA, Kan. -- Otto B. Beetem, 70, Galena route 2, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 30, 1905, at Douglas, Neb. and had resided near Galena since March 1973, moving from Joplin.
He was employed as engineer for Cities Service Gas Company, retiring Dec. 1, 1970.
He was married to Mae Kohl, March 21, 1973, at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Lee Roy Beetem, Seneca, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Beverly Croisant, Satana, Kan., Mrs. Euna Faye Armstrong, Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Betty Hall, Joplin; two brothers, Boyd Beetem, Lincoln, Neb., Cecil Beetem, Beatrice, Neb., and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.
Dr. Gerald Kellar will officiate.
Burial will be in Quaker Valley Cemetery at Riverton, Kan.
Pallbearers will be Norman Hall, Gary Hall, Claude Mann, Paul O'Donnell, Carl Starkweather and William H. Carlson.
