Peter N. Leibfried, 70, a resident of Spokane, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at his home in Spokane.

He was born Dec. 10, 1931 in Calgary, Alberta to Frank N. Leibfried and Margaret Leibfried. Peter was a resident of Wenatchee until the mid '80s, when he moved his family to Spokane. Peter was a contract laborer for most of his working years. He was the most caring, wonderful companion, father and grandfather ever. He would have done anything for a person and then some. Peter was a veteran who fought in the Korean War. He served his country proudly and died May 7, 2002, a remembered soldier. He will be missed greatly.

He raised eight children and two grandchildren (Peter and Danny). He took an immense amount of care for Danny who was born with Down Syndrome. He was known as Papa to Danny. Danny was his right-hand little man. You could not keep them apart.

Peter is survived by his wife, Lloyt Leibfried, his children, Frankie Leibfried of San Diego, CA, Mike Leibfried of Spokane, Tina Boyd of Kennewick, Donald Leibfried of Spokane, Ronald Leibfried of Tucson, AZ and Linda Boyd of Kennewick. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Our beloved Peter left this earth and our lives but he did not leave our hearts. We didn't lose anybody this day, we gained an angel. Peter N. Leibfried will be laid to rest in peace with his father Frank, mother Margaret and his two daughters, Teresa Leibfried and Shelly Cunningham.

Viewing will be at the Jones & Jones Funeral Home Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2002 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Burial will follow service at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee.
